[edit] Canon
Most, but not all, comic books publised by Marvel Comics are set in a shared world known as the Marvel Universe. The canon for this world comprises all the comics not stated to be set in an alternate universe, except those specifically contradicted by later stories. The events may not have occurred exactly as shown, however, owing to the floating timeline.Appearances of the Marvel Comics characters in other media are not considered canon.
Because this Wiki covers more than one story line of Spider-Man, there will be several Canons on each page. To do this, a heading must be made with the canon of the article on it. For example, on the Venom article, the first heading should be The Amazing Spider-Man, as a heading, and all information about Venom in The Amazing Spider-Man goes under that heading and sub-headings. Canon should go in this order:
If one is missing in an article, skip it, and go to the next one. All articles should begin with The Amazing Spider-Man, and any articles under that require no heading.
[edit] Other Comics
Any comics that go with The Amazing Spider-Man storyline, and are in the official Marvel Universe, can be considered part of The Amazing Spider-Man canon.
[edit] Tense
All articles are to be written in the past tense.
[edit] Quotations
Quotations should follow this general format:
- If the quote is less than a paragraph long, simply including it in the article's body with "and" will suffice.
- If the quote is at least a paragraph in length, or a dialogue, insert as a block quote:
- "Block quotes are indented with a colon at the beginning of each new paragraph. Each paragraph needs only one colon, not a new colon for each line (word wrap will accomplish this automatically).
- New paragraphs, however, do require their own colon."
Please be sure to provide as much information as possible (for instance: source, page if applicable, and characters speaking if applicable).
[edit] Using the #
Do not use the # in a link unless you intend to direct to a section of that article with the title after the # as a section. When linking to articles, particular books and guides with numbers denoting their order, omit the # and simply put the number. Otherwise the software will look for that number as a section title on the page.
e.g. The Amazing Spider-Man 316, not The Amazing Spider-Man #316
[edit] Sources
For all information, write the source of that information under a sources heading. Write all sources bulleted.
