"The Sting of the Scorpion" is the second episode from the first season of the animated series Spider-Man, also marking the second episode. For unknown reasons, it originally aired on March 11, 1995 on Fox Kids, following the Spider Slayers two-parter.

Characters such as Felicia Hardy, who would later become known as the Black Cat, and Scorpion, were introduced during the episode.

Mac Gargan agrees with J. Jonah Jameson to eliminate Spider-Man, after being transformed into an oversized scorpion with the help of Dr. Farley Stillwell. This was inspired by the fact that scorpions are natural predators of spiders. Spider-Man is unable to elude the supervillain, however, just as Jameson orders the Scorpion to unmask him, Gargan realizes that the publisher has turned him into a monster, kidnapping him. Jameson, even though Spider-Man succeeds in rescuing him, announces that he will not accept him as a worthy ally. Mac Gargan, meanwhile, is imprisoned.
