"The underworld will now be run lika a Business.. and the Chairman of the Board will be .. The Kingpin!" |
Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (of Earth-616) is a fictional character, a supervillain in the Marvel Comics Universe. He made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #50.
Early Life
Edit
Growing up Wilson Fisk was unpopular, overweight and constantly ridiculed by other kids. He eventually trained himself in combat, donned the alias, "The Kingpin", and joined a life of villainy, partially in order to frighten his enemies, which he did successfully. Over the years he has become the most wealthy, well known, well staffed, and well equipped crime lord in all of New York city.
Powers and Abilities
Edit
The Kingpin has no superhuman powers. However, he is incredibly strong and durable, possessing remarkable strength as seen by his large appearance, and he once even crushed one of Spider-Man's web shooters without making any great effort.
While he has been shown as being able to hold his own against Spider-Man, this is because Spider-Man has strong psychological inhibitions against using his superhuman strength against non-powered opponents, for fear of killing them. When Spider-Man went all out against Fisk after the attack on Aunt May, Fisk was easily beaten.
Trivia
Edit
- Kingpin's real name (Wilson Fisk) was revealed in Daredevil issue #170.
