Contents

[edit] Amazing Fantasy

The final issue of the Amazing Fantasy comics featured our ever-loving Spider-Man. Since the Amazing Fantasy franchize was falling, and fans were raving over Spidey, Stan Lee surprisingly opened his own comic series dedicated to the web-headed wall-crawler.

[edit] Volume One

[edit] First Villain

It may be to your surprise that Spider-Man's first ever supervillain is not as known as Doc Ock or Scorpion. His first villain was actually the Chameleon, a man whose identity is unknown and can change his image and become anyone he chooses. He premiered in The Amazing Spider-Man #1, as seen above, but is easily defeated because he decided to take on the image of Peter Parker.

[edit] Secret Wars

Secret Wars, one of the most well-known warfares of Marvel comics history, was the first appearance of Spider-Man's black suit, later known as the Venom symbiote.

[edit] 441 Issues 'Till Fall

The Amazing Spider-Man #441 was considered to be the final comic in the series. Fans all over were totally dissappointed.

[edit] Volume Two

Fans would not be dissappointed long when, one year later, The Amazing Spider-Man got a fresh start with a new version of the series.

[edit] The Black Issue

The thirty-second issue of volume two had Spidey's reactions on September 11, 2001. The comic world had almost stopped in shock during the release of this issue.

[edit] The Civil War

The Civil War had more of an impact on the comic world than the black issue did. Many Marvel characters were unmasked or even killed. Although the Civil War was a seperate comic book, it had many crossovers into the Amazing Spider-Man universe, including Peter's unmasking and the shooting of his Aunt May.
