Spider-Man: The New Animated Series also known as MTV Spider-Man is an American animated series featuring the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man, which ran for one season, 13 episodes, starting on July 11, 2003 - September 12, 2003. It is a loose continuation of the film Spider-Man . The show was made using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) rendered in Cel Shading and broadcasted on MTV. It featured a far more mature version of the hero than seen on television or comic books. Throughout the series, characters are clearly killed, instead of the usual dissapearance from the series, and several characters have been implied to have had sex.
The Series takes place in Earth-760207.
Series Overview[]
The Series follow the events of the first Spider-Man , as Norman Osborn is dead. Peter Parker, Mary Jane , and Harry Osborn attend Empire State University. Peter and Mary Jane try to Establish a relationship though without success. At first, it it Peter's duties as Spider-Man, it is later because Peter begins dating Indira Daimonji. Meanwhile, Harry craves revenge on Spider-Man, whom he blames for the death of his father. Spider-Man faces the usual assortment of villains such as Lizard , Kraven The Hunter , and Electro while trying to maintain his job and his studies. However, he faces two psychic twins who ruin everything in his heroic life. In the end, this causes Peter to give up being Spider-Man and try to live a normal life.
The end of the series proves what Green Goblin said in the 2002 Spider-Man film: "In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you."

In 2004, the series was nominated for an Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production. The Episode "Keeping Secrets" was nominated for an Annie Award as well in Outstanding Storyboarding in an Animated Television Production.
The series itself has an 8.5 on Tv.com, 7.0 on IMDb, and four stars on Amazon.
