Uhh... I... don't know what to say... You know that we did already discuss this, right Bookworm? I'm at loss for words. Tobalth, DarkKnight? Care to comment?
I have only this to say. With every staff member an admin, that means that everyone, everyone, must abide by the rules. That includes, in this case specifically, subverting the staff.
In this context, I was referencing the fact that, in promoting us, you were, regardless of yor intentions, undermining the staff's authority. I must take this opportunity to warn you that, with all of us administrators, the rules are to be followed, or the offendor will be blocked. This goes for everyone.
I was more concerned with your deletion of the staff page. Why did you get rid of it?
Fragnabbit, I screwed up again! I'm sorry, I thought that you meant that there was no need to have a staff since we're all admins now. I keep on making blunder after blunder. Be honest with me, is there anything I do right on this wiki???
I'm sorry, but I feel like people should not be able to ask for staff or admin rights. I personally have no problem creating the requirements for being part of the staff, but I think the staff should ask users, and vote on who to allow in.
I have to agree with Sonic. A better procedure would be, when we need admins, a staff member nominates an editor. We vote on whether or not they can be trusted with the power, and if we agree, we invite them. If not, we nominate someone else. It's a smooth, solid process.
I love you Jello, but I'm going to side with my fellow staff members here. The current non-structured system we have of voting is fine. Setting requirements, it doesn't seem right.
If people nominated themselves for staff positions and admin rights, this place could get chaotic. It would be best if the staff nominates someone. Just my two cents.
Look, please don't take this the wrong way, and don't feel obligated to answer this question. But are you home schooled? I noticed you say you're 14 years old, but you edit during the day sometimes. The reason I ask is because I was home schooled for Middle School.
On the subject of the main page, has anyone else noticed that the ads on the main page are messing with the "need help" and "new articles" headers? I've recently started using adblock, but I noticed it the other day. This isn't something I can fix, so it's up to you, Bookworm.
To be honest, I hadn't noticed it. That does prevent a problem, and I don't know how to fix it either. Jello, it would be appreciated if you could fix that.
Also on the subject of the main page, does anyone else think its time we removed The Amazing Spider-Man from the slider? Its been awhile since its release, and I think we should replace it with something a little more current. Just my opinion, though. What do you guys think?
I don't know. The only reason I can think to keep it would be to advertise the DVD, since the holidays are coming up. The question is what to replace it with.
can we change the background image to the cover of superior spider-man #1 and can we change the image for new avengers to the image of the current line-up?
If Rule 15 says that non staff members can't edit the main page, shouldn't you just protect it? Tobalth, Sonic, and Dark Knight will still be able to edit it. They'll just have to tell you what to do.
Hmm.Protecting the main page, eh? *Taps chin.* Well, it only needs to be edited once every month (which I'm in charge of doing), and Dalek wouldn't be able to vandalize it like he's occasionally been doing, so...eh, what the Heck? I'll do it. Thanks, Shadow. *Walks away.*
*Walks back.* And by the way, if this goes wrong and Bighead reduces my salary again (don't ask how he has the authority to do that even though we're both admins; I, myself, don't know), then I'm blaming..........Shadow Lurker. Hopefully, he won't blame you in turn. O_O (<---Hey, look: Pacman!)
A bit late, I realize, but I don't think it's fair to say that Dalek has been "vandalizing" the main page. His work is positive, and has made the page look that much better. I'm in no way saying he is allowed to ignore our rules, but it's not accurate to call his edits vandalism.
