"I'm assuming you saw what she did? How her power works? Anything we can do -- anything any of us can do -- she's already there. It's like -- someone made a voodoo doll for the whole mutant race. That's what Hope is. She's us. All of us."
Hope Summers (of Earth-616) is the first mutant to be born after the Decimation, an event in which the Scarlet Witch uses her reality-altering superpower to turn all but 198 of the world's mutants into regular, depowered humans, and is the adopted daughter of cable ( son of Scott Summers)
Her destiny was revealed during the events of Avengers vs X-Men, when she bonded with the Phoenix, became the White Phoenix, and (with help from the Scarlet Witch) reversed the damage the Decimation caused by causing the humans who were born in the last 10 years who should have been born mutant to suddenly develop mutant powers, thus making half the worlds population mutant.
