Felicia Hardy (of Earth-616) is a former enemy turned ally of Spider-Man in the Marvel universe. She was also one of his love interests.

History

Early Life

Felicia Hardy was the daughter of the expert thief, Walter Hardy, who possessed a photographic memory. He was tricked by a group of WWII Nazi's, who had them believe that they were with the Allied Powers into memorizing the Super-Soldier formula that gave Captain America his superpowers. He realized after witnessing the creation of Captain America, who was supposedly a Nazi soldier, that he was working for the Nazi's and the people that he had been sent to spy on were with the Allied Powers and that his employers were the Nazi's. He was imprisoned by S.H.I.E.L.D to keep him from revealing the formula to anyone else. Eventually Wilson Fisk learned of this knowledge and had Chameleon break him out by posing as one of the guards. Meanwhile, he had Doctor Octopus abduct Felicia so that they could make him reveal the formula, as they knew he would rather die than reveal the information, but that he would not put his daughter in harms way.

Becoming Black Cat

After revealing the formula to Fisk, Walter was thrown in an energy cage. Fisk betrayed Walter by using Felicia as a test subject for the formula. It was a success, and she gained all the powers of Captain America, but with greater strength. Fisk sent her to capture Spider-Man. She arrived and began to fight with Peter, but due to being a novice in the use of her powers at the time, she was easily defeated. Peter unmasked her, shocked to learn of her identity, as Felicia had previously made sexual advances toward him (not knowing that he was Peter Parker). Felicia revealed what had happened to Peter, and told him that Fisk had promised to release her father if she captured him within 12 hours. Peter realized that Fisk wouldn't make good on his promise, and would most likely use the formula to create his own super-powered army of thugs. Felicia and Peter worked together to rescue Walter, and Peter subsequently erased all data on the formula. As they were about to escape, Smythe activated his newest Spider-Slayer model. Walter, realizing that the world was not safe with him being a free man, said his goodbyes to Felicia, and thanked Peter for all his help. He then sacrificed himself to destroy the new Spider-Slayer and allow Peter & Felicia to escape. She has since shared many adventures with Peter and frequently assists him in battling super villains. He has grown to trust her so much that he even revealed his secret identity to her. Despite this, and the knowledge of his marrige to Mary Jane Watson, she continues to make sexual advances toward him.
